About the event
ADHD has long been perceived as a disorder primarily affecting attention, but we now realize it's a performance disorder. This means that individuals with ADHD may find it challenging to showcase their knowledge and capabilities in real-world situations. Join us in debunking myths and gaining a fresh perspective on ADHD at our upcoming event.
Our keynote speaker, Michael McLeod, MA, CCC-SLP TSSLD, an ASHA-Certified Speech-Language Pathologist and Executive Function-ADHD Specialist, will shed light on the latest research that reveals ADHD as an Executive Function developmental delay.
Executive Functions encompass cognitive processes that enable us to regulate our behavior, control our impulses, and work towards our goals. These functions include working memory, cognitive flexibility, inhibitory control, planning, and organization. Recent studies have shown that Executive Functions are the primary predictors of success, making them vital for leading a prosperous, independent life.
