About the event

ADHD has long been perceived as a disorder primarily affecting attention, but we now realize it's a performance disorder. This means that individuals with ADHD may find it challenging to showcase their knowledge and capabilities in real-world situations. Join us in debunking myths and gaining a fresh perspective on ADHD at our upcoming event.

Our keynote speaker, Michael McLeod, MA, CCC-SLP TSSLD, an ASHA-Certified Speech-Language Pathologist and Executive Function-ADHD Specialist, will shed light on the latest research that reveals ADHD as an Executive Function developmental delay.

Executive Functions encompass cognitive processes that enable us to regulate our behavior, control our impulses, and work towards our goals. These functions include working memory, cognitive flexibility, inhibitory control, planning, and organization. Recent studies have shown that Executive Functions are the primary predictors of success, making them vital for leading a prosperous, independent life.

What to Expect:

  • Gain a new understanding of ADHD as an Executive Function developmental delay.
  • Learn about the crucial role of Internal Language, or self-talk, in enhancing Executive Functions.
  • Discover how Internal Language can be harnessed to improve behavioral regulation and impulse control.
  • Explore a holistic approach to fostering Executive Functions and Resiliency in students.
  • Find out how to empower individuals with ADHD to achieve their full potential and thrive.

Michael McLeod will share evidence-based insights from his GrowNOW Model, which focuses on strengthening Internal Language while building interpersonal relationships and offering diverse experiences for students. This comprehensive approach aims to reduce prompt dependency on adults and enhance independence in all areas of life, including academics, social interactions, and at home.

Don't miss this exceptional opportunity to gain insights into ADHD and its impact on Executive Functions. Join us to learn how to help individuals with ADHD unlock their full potential and thrive. This event is open to parents, educators, and anyone interested in ADHD and executive function development.

We look forward to your participation in this enlightening discussion with Michael McLeod!
