The school currently has two endowment funds managed by The Mid-Shore Community Foundation. With your help, the Board of Trustees seeks to offer additional opportunities for endowing our program and facilities. Please contact Emma Rose Mumma at 443-262-8291 for further information.

The Wye River Upper School Endowment Fund, established in 2005, was initially funded through the generosity of friends of the school with the intent of supporting Wye River Upper School’s mission now and for all time. This endowment allows the school to sustain its vision, offers greater flexibility during tough economic times and supports future financial growth so we can maintain excellent educational programs.

The Harry R. Hughes Environmental Studies Endowment, established in 2014 by the Wye River Upper School Board of Trustees, is intended to support Wye River environmental programs. These programs are specifically dedicated to engaging students in central environmental questions and the challenges facing current and future generations. This fund was specifically created to honor former Maryland Governor Harry Hughes who assisted the school in obtaining a State Capital Grant for the re-construction of its new facility, and who for years has had a substantial abiding interest in the preservation of Maryland’s natural marine resources.
