At Wye River
Upper School our students set personal goals that motivate
and inspire them. Every new student participates in a personal
goal setting discussion with our school counselor. Our faculty
and staff support each student in actively monitoring their
progress toward these goals or developing new ones. Wye River
Upper School offers a variety of support mechanisms to help
them reach their goals:
- A full-time, trained school counselor.
- An individual relationship with those faculty and
staff members whose skills and experience best support the
student’s interests and goals.
- The experience of working with our community partners,
including the Kent Island Lions Club, Chesapeake Bay Environmental
Center, and area business leaders.
- Student-designed, faculty supervised, senior projects
requiring visual, oral, written and experiential components,
presented to a jury of faculty judges each April and required
for graduation.
