Academics: Student Development Plans

Student Development Plans are unique to Wye River Upper School and our Mission. They represent the means by which we monitor the progress of a student's academic, social and behavioral growth. Progress is based on:

  • Objective classroom assessment.
  • Annual academic achievement testing.
  • Available psycho-educational evaluations.
  • Faculty observations.

If a student shows qualifying gaps in achievement or growth, we work with them to rewrite and implement carefully determined goals to promote closure of these gaps. Each plan is updated quarterly throughout a student's career at Wye River Upper School.

"Know that, as a teacher, being part of the WRUS staff in any capacity has brought me pride and developed my skills. Know that, if I were a parent, I'd be equally proud for my child to attend WRUS, regardless of his or her learning style." - WRUS Faculty Member
