We strongly
believe that Wye River Upper School students can benefit from
and be a benefit to our community. It is part of our mission
to not only educate our students, but to be a resource to
our community at large.
Our students actively support and are committed to:
-two consecutive trips to Mississippi to support post-Katrina clean up. A third trip is planned for March 2009.
-the Leo club, a service organization supported by the Kent Island Lions Club
- service to the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center (CBEC) in Grasonville, Maryland
-Talbot County Habitat for Humanity
-Queenstown Bank's Give 2 the Troops
-student produced Public Service Announcements promoting positive choices by teenagers
We are pleased to announce a new College Admissions Program, funded by the Mid Shore Community Foundation. As part of this grant, WRUS will host Fran Bowman, M.Ed. and Sue Patterson in the fall of 2008, as expert speakers on the college search process. The presentations will be open to the general public.
