Wye River Upper School School Calendar 2011 - 2012

This calendar includes 173 instructional days which will allow for closures due to inclement weather. Faculty work 183 days. The Director of Education may adjust this calendar as necessary and provide no less than 170 instructional days.

September 5 - Labor Day, School closed

September 20- Meet the Teacher Night
October 12- PSAT
October 12- Admission’s Open House, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
October 13- Admission’s Open House, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
October 20- Oral History Day
October 27- Guest Speaker- Dr. Kathleen Nadeau (Nationally Recognized ADHD author), 6:00-9:00 p.m.
October 28 – end of 1st quarter, school dismisses at noon, no sports/morning activities*
October 31- Faculty In-service, school closed to students
November 5- Annual WRUS Wine Tasting Fundraiser
November 7- National College Fair, Baltimore
November 22 - school closes at noon for Thanksgiving break
November 28- school reopens
December 14, 15, 16- Mid term exams, early dismissal
December 16- School closes for winter break
January 2 - school reopens
January 16, school closed for MLK Day
January 13 - end of 2nd marking period, school dismisses at noon, no sports/morning activities*

June 1- Last day of school, early dismissal
