Terry Nolan, Chair
Terry Nolan serves on the Wye River Upper School Board as the Chair of the Development Committee. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Western Maryland College, now McDaniel College. Ms. Nolan is the principal and owner of Annapolis Capital, an investment advisory firm. She is the author of Michael's Mom: A Road Warrior without a Map, published by Tate Publishing in 2007. She is an active member of CHADD, Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder and serves on the board of the Frank Battaglia Signal 13 Foundation.
Chrissy Aull, Board Member
Chrissy Aull is a Co-Founder of Wye River Upper School.
In 2006, her son graduated in the second graduating class.
She has a B.A. from Western Maryland College, now McDaniel
College, and a Masters in Education from Loyola College. She
holds a Maryland Certification in Special Education, is trained
to teach Orton Gillingham reading instruction and has previously
taught at both the elementary and high school levels. Ms.
Aull regularly speaks to local and regional organizations
and has presented at national levels to further awareness
of the need for appropriate education for students with unique
learning styles. She is a member of the Shore Leadership Class
of 2005 and the Chesapeake Women's Network. She was recently honored by the American Associaton of University Women, Easton Chapter.
Virgina Capute, Board Member
Ginny is employed as a librarian for Chesapeake College and sees the students of WRUS on an almost daily basis. She is keenly aware of the talents and needs of students with learning differences. Ginny holds a B.A. in Spanish from Kenyon College and a Masters of Library Science from the U. of Indiana.
Sara Jane Davidson, Board Member
Sara Jane Davidson is a retired educator, having
taught in both public and private high schools. She is an
active member of Caroline County CASA and has been an involved
member of the communities in which she resides. Ms. Davidson
serves on the Advisory Board of the Women’s and Girl’s
Fund of the Mid-Shore of Maryland.
Jij Duffey, Board Member
Jii Duffey, a local resident, runs a family farm
in partnership with her husband. Ms. Duffey remains active
in local non-profits, including Adkins Arboretum and the Queen
Anne’s County Mental Health Association. She is a long
time and avid supporter of improving educational opportunities
for area youth.
Rich Graves, Board Member
Rich Graves runs his own accounting practice in Centreville,
Maryland. He is an active member of the Centreville Rotary.
Patricia McGlannan, Board Member
Patricia McGlannan is a Co-Founder of Wye River Upper
School and the former Director of Business and Development.
Her son was in the second graduating class in 2006. She is
an active member of local Chambers of Commerce and women's
networks, and serves actively on the Queen Anne's County Chamber
of Commerce Business Education Partnership.
Paula Newell, Board Member
Paula Newell, a native of Beverly, Massachusetts,
relocated to the Eastern Shore after retiring from a long
and distinguished career in education. In her most recent
position as Director of the Reformed Church Nursery School
in Bronxville, New York, she is credited with establishing
the school as one of the premier institutions of its type
in the Northeast. Ms. Newell holds a B.S. and M.S. in Education
from Wheelock College in Boston, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in
School Administration from Columbia University in New York
City. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Women’s
and Girl’s Fund of the Mid-Shore of Maryland.
Sharon Ritter, Board Member
Sharon Ritter maintains a private law practice in Easton, Maryland, with an emphasis in taxation law and trusts. She serves as the Chair of the Trustee Development Committee. Ms. Ritter is also an active member of the Easton Rotary and a member of the Shore Leadership Class of 2005.
Danny Tepper, Board Member
Danny Tepper is a veteran television producer and
entertainment executive, and the author of the best-selling
children’s book series, LOOK WHO’S TALKING!
published by Random House. In conjunction with this book he
designed complementary flash cards to promote early language
development. Mr. Tepper has been an active supporter of Wye
River Upper School. He has taught classes on how to produce
a Public Service Announcement video and "TV 101: the
Art of Television Pitching," as well as coached the lacrosse
team.
Greg Wannenwetsch, Board Member
Greg is the parent of a WRUS junior. During his 35-year career, Wannenwetsch has tested a wide array of hypersonic vehicles, including having worked extensively on Space Shuttle aerodynamics, booster and tank separation, thermal-protection-materials performance, and re-entry heating. The Wannenwetsch family has also been involved in a similarly wide array of children’s activities, having shared their home with a number of foster children, and led and supported such diverse activities as a brownie troop, a high-school marching band, a youth soccer league, and various hockey teams.
Judy Wink, Board Member
Judy Wink is the Executive Director of the Chesapeake Bay Environment Center and has been instrumental in creating the valuable partnership between CBEC and Wye River Upper School. Her prior experience as a former teacher who has worked with a variety of youths with a variety of challenges is an asset to Wye River Upper School. She is also a member of the Queens Anne County Chamber of Commerce.
Linnie Marshall, Advisor
Linnie Marshal calls on her experience in public and private school administration, having served as Head of School for Linden Hall in Pennsylvania, as well as principal of public schools in Maryland.
Alexa Seip, Advisor
Alexa offers her experience as Chair of the Board of The Darrow School to WRUS. Residents of Easton, and active community supporters, she and her husband Tom are very appreciative of the alternative model of educating bright high school students.
Pat Troy, Advisor
Pat Troy is a co-founder of Chesapeake Academy in Severna Park, Maryland. After a long and distinguished career in education, she now owns and manages her own publishing and event planning consulting firm, Bay Media. The Daily Record has named her among Maryland’s Top 100 Women three times.
Thomas G. West, Advisor
Tom West is an accomplished writer and expert on
the talents of gifted dyslexics and the aptitudes and talents
of visual learners. He is the author of the award-winning
book, In the Mind's Eye--Visual Thinkers, Gifted People
with Dyslexia and Other Learning Difficulties, Computer Images
and the Ironies of Creativity. Mr. West writes a regular
column, "Images and Reversals" on visualization
issues for Computer Graphics. He has consulted, organized
conferences and given presentations on computer visualization
of information, scientific creativity and learning styles
for scientists, business leaders and media innovators at numerous
international organizations. Based in Washington, D.C., Mr.
West has appeared on television and radio programs broadcast
by PBS, the BBC, NPR, New Zealand TV, and UK Channel 4, among
others. Tom is the proud namesake of the WRUS "Thomas West Achievement in Digital Arts and Technology Award", awarded to the WRUS student who most demonstrates outstanding achievement in the named field.
Camille Woodbury M.D. Advisor
Camille Woodbury, M.D. is a board certified in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry. She has been in practice for 27 years, having recently relocated her practice from Potamac and Chevy Chase, Maryland to Tilghman, Maryland. Dr. Woodbury is a member of the American Psychiatric Assocaation and is Director of Continuing Medical Education for the Washington Psychoanalytic Society. She is the founder of the Bright Eyes Childrens Foundation, a nonprofit group working with children in the Bay Hundred area of Tilghman and St. Michael's Maryland. She is married and has three adult children.
